PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - State Police announced Monday they confiscated over $66 million worth of illegal drugs in 2018.
That includes nearly 200 pounds of heroin and fentanyl. A majority of that number came in the third quarter of 2018.
Small amounts of pure fentanyl can cause a potentially deadly reaction putting not only users but family members and first responders at risk.
Between July and September, troopers seized processed marijuana valued at over $22 million, bringing that quarter's total to over $36 million.
