
SCRANTON, Pa (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - On Friday, A Pennsylvania World War II Veteran will celebrate his 100th birthday.
The commonwealth’s Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is hosting a birthday party for veteran Morris Kashuba, who served in the Army from 1942 to 1945.
Kashuba, a current resident at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center in Scranton, PA worked as a furlough driver during the war, “transporting troops from combat to various locations throughout Europe for rest and relaxation.”
Kashuba’s family will be a part of the celebration and he will receive a birthday card from Governor Tom Wolf that will be presented by PA’s adjutant general and head of the DMVA, Major General Tony Carrelli.
