PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pier 1 Imports has approval from bankruptcy court to close its stores nationwide.
The company's 500 locations have been closed during the pandemic.
Liquidation sales will begin at the stores re-open. Pier 1 says its goal is to end business in October.
There are five Pittsburgh area Pier 1 locations, Monroeville, Greensburg, Cranberry, Upper St. Clair and the Waterworks.
Pier 1 operates over 1,000 stores in North American and has locations in all 50 states.
