PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The bishop of the Diocese of Providence, Rhode Island is defending a Twitter post urging Catholics to not support or attend LGBTQ Pride Month events.
A reminder that Catholics should not support or attend LGBTQ "Pride Month" events held in June. They promote a culture and encourage activities that are contrary to Catholic faith and morals. They are especially harmful for children.

Thomas Tobin, a Pittsburgh native who once served as auxiliary bishop, sparked a backlash Saturday when he tweeted Pride Month events "promote a culture and encourage activities that are contrary to Catholic faith and morals."
The Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh is calling on Bishop David Zubik to denounce Tobin's message.
June is pride month, commemorating the Stonewall riots with occurred in June 1969.
