PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Point State Park Fountain will be turned on Saturday, just in time for the marathon and the finish line festival in the park.
The original fountain was completed in 1974 and a renovation was completed in 2013.
And a new, or rather old, fountain was turned on in the North Side Thursday.
The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy rebuilt the historic Northeast Fountain in Allegheny Commons Park along Cedar Street using photos and paintings.
A very happy gathering on the North Side for the Grand Opening of @pittsburghparks Northeast Fountain in Allegheny Commons! @Highmark and @AHNtoday are proud partners in this amazing place-making project that has created a most beautiful, welcoming and uplifting public space! pic.twitter.com/ghZf0dXceX
