EDINBORO, Pa. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Police are investigating after one or more people allegedly released bed bugs at an Edinboro Walmart.

PA State Police say the bedbugs were believed to have been released in the men’s changing room of the store located on Washington Towne Boulevard in Erie County.

A manager told police that store staff found a pill bottle containing live bugs on Thursday in a boy’s jacket that was for sale.

Walmart disposed of the jacket and pill bottle and called in a hygiene company to investigate.

A representative from Ecolab found bed bugs crawling around in the men’s fitting room.

On Saturday, a second bottle was discovered with dead bed bugs in it on the floor in the men’s department by a store worker.

Police took the bottle for fingerprints and surveillance video from the store is being reviewed in hopes of finding a suspect.

It is believed to be an isolated incident.
