
PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A nearly hour-long ceremony marked the 40 lives lost on Flight 93 near Shanksville in Somerset County on Friday.
Two bells struck as stuck as each of the names of the 40 passengers and crew were read and a bagpiper walked into the field behind the memorial, the families followed.
Ed Root Spoke for the families of Flight 93.
“They were unable to save themselves but they knew that unless they acted, many more would die,” said Root.
President Trump spoke in a hushed voice for about 15 minutes.
“Their names and their stories are forever inscribed on the eternal roll call of American heroes,” said Trump.
The president said their memory would inspire America for all time to come.
Former Vice-President and Democratic nominee Joe Biden will visit the site later on Friday.
