PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A protest scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday downtown at Liberty Avenue and Wood Street is proceeding amid threats of violence against protesters online.
Organizers say that the protesters will gather and will lay on the street with the message, "stop killing us."
They also ask that people bring people with signs that say "Stop killing us."
A user on twitter captured screen shots of a user on social media saying "Shoot all these mother *******!" with the post of a news story covering the police car that was set on fire.
A comment in the post says "I'm going there Thursday I'll let you know how many I get."
A person who is planning to go to the protest tells KDKA Radio they have heard talk of other gun groups going to the protest but said it was only hearsay.
A protest scheduled in Vandergrift was canceled on Wednesday after they received threats.
