PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Protesters gathered for a third day Monday at an Exxon station in Marshall-Shadeland where two women were assaulted on Friday by gas station owners and an employee.

At a rally and news conference at the Exxon station Monday morning, community members demanded new ownership of the gas station.

One woman at the rally said, “Our residents here in Marshall-Shadeland  I just want to put all the other businesses on notice, on  Brighton Avenue all up and through  Brighton Avenue that will we not accept any type of mistreatment towards our black women in our neighborhoods and in our community.”

The dispute Friday night apparently started over spilled gasoline.

Police have recommended simple assault charges against the station owners and an employee.
