PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pandemic restrictions are easing for Pennsylvania restaurants later this month - up to 50% capacity as of the 21st.
President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association John Longstreet says the industry appreciates relaxed guidelines but says they're still too restrictive.
“You cannot serve people at a bar. A lot of restaurants count on that bar seating in order to get anywhere near the 50% capacity with the social distancing,” Longstreet explains.
Last call will change from 11:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Restaurants are also required to self-certify that they are following Covid mandates. However, according to Longstreet, this is discriminatory since other businesses do not have to do the same.
