PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pittsburgh-area Congressman Conor Lamb is calling on federal officials to launch an immediate investigation into the operations at the Brighton Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Beaver County where nearly 70 residents have died from COVID-19.
Lamb’s letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services also asks if residents are being protected and if federal personnel are needed.
He tells KDKA Radio’s Marty Griffin there was a serious safety violation reported at the center last weekend.
“So for that to happen even after everything that those residents and their families have been through, to me, is just . . . unacceptable.”
Lamb says the violation had to do with cleanliness.
Lamb adds there’s a deep leadership problem at the facility.
An email seeking response from the center was not immediately returned.
