River The Dog Has Standoff With Squirrel

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) The weather is still on the warmer side for January, but humans are not the only ones enjoying the mild temperatures and sunshine.

The Golden Retriever, River, known around Pittsburgh as the former canine ambassador for Mayor Bill Peduto, tweeted out a stare down he has with a squirrel while on a walk.

River manages to remain perfectly still as a squirrel makes small quick movements before eventually turning away.

With the warm weather sticking around longer than normal, animals like squirrels and chipmunks are sticking around longer, as well.

The warmer tempueratures are expected to be departing soon as the high for Sunday is predicted to be 26°.
