PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Severe thunderstorms and flash flooding are closing roads, parks and business to close early Wednesday.
Downed wires on Route 910 at Interstate 79 is causing major delays. I-79 is closed in both directions at the Mt. Nebo interchange and I-279 northbound is closed.
You cannot get on I-79 southbound at Warrendale and they’ve stopped southbound traffic just after Rt. 228.
Avoid Route 19 and McKnight Road, those roads are handling the brunt of the traffic.
In Allegheny Township in Westmoreland county Rt. 356 is closed between White Cloud Road and the Freeport Bridge due to downed wires.

Reserve: Spring Garden Avenue is closed between Wilson Road and Ramage Road due to a downed tree and wires blocking the road.

May 29, 2019 Kennywood Park closed its gates at 3:30. Those who were at the park during the time of closure were able to get a ticket to come back another time this summer.
Due to storms in the area and inclement weather expected the rest of the evening, Kennywood will be closing at 3:30 p.m. today. Guests currently at the park can present their ticket stub at the exit to receive a return ticket for another visit during the Summer Season.
