SAXONBURG (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — South Butler County District schools are back under a modified lockdown.

Security has been tighter since 18-year-old student Jason Michael Bowen was jailed Monday for making terroristic threats on social media.

The superintendent said in a letter Thursday that Friday's precautionary lockdown is due to rumors that have been circulating since, none of which have been substantiated.

All non-essential visitors will not be allowed into school buildings during the modified lockdown and students will see an increased police presence.

Bowen's attorney has said the video of him firing an assault style rifle with the caption "training for prom walk" was not intended as a threat.
