HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The State Senate has sent the House a package of bills that would make major changes to the state’s annual vehicle emissions testing requirements.
One bill would require emissions testing for passenger cars, vans and light-duty trucks every two years instead of each year.
Vehicles manufactured in odd numbered years would be tested in odd numbered years while those made in even years would be tested in even years.
Another bill would exempt emissions testing for newer cars sold for eight years after the vehicle was manufactured.
Changes would require EPA approval.
