PA State Trooper Shot In Manfield, PA Is In Stable Condition

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – Pennsylvania State police report that the trooper who was shot on Tuesday is in stable condition.

The shooting took place during a welfare check near Mansfield, PA.

PA State police said that three PA state troopers were responding to a welfare check in Mansfield, PA. Upon arrival, the troopers announced themselves, with no response. They entered the location through an unlocked door, again announcing themselves, and that is when the gunshot was fired at the troopers, hitting one of the officers.

The trooper who was hit was life flighted from the scene.

In an updated posted at 8:00 P.M., the PA State police said the trooper did not require surgery, is being treated for his injury, and is in stable condition.

Another trooper sustained a leg injury and was treated and released from the hospital.
