PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Steelers jumped up ten picks in the first round of the NFL Draft to select linebacker Devin Bush out of the University of Michigan.

“I expect him to play quite a bit; I don’t know if he will start right away,” said Steelers Writer at The Athletic, Ed Bouchette, during an interview with KDKA Radio on Monday morning.

Whether he starts or not, we expect Bush to have a big impact on the Steelers defense.

The organization did not have a selection in the second round due to trading up, so their next pick came in the third round where they selected wide receiver Diontae Johnson, out of the University of Toledo.

“This kid is already being compared, in an ever so slight way, to Antonio Brown. They were the same size and they come from the MAC,” Bouchette added.

With the second pick in the third round, the Steelers drafted cornerback Justin Layne out of Michigan State University.

“He’s tall, he’s rangy, he’s got long arms, he’s got decent speed,” Bouchette explains.

Layne lacks experience because he used to play wide receiver before converting to cornerback.

He will have time to develop since the Steelers signed cornerback, Steven Nelson, this off-season.
