The large demonstration in Downtown Pittsburgh Monday protesting the not guilty verdict in the Michael Rosfeld murder case was peaceful with no arrests.Middle, high school and college students converged on the streets to demand justice for Antwon Rose, who was killed by Rosfeld at a traffic stop last June.
The demonstrators also demanded that changes be made to a justice system they said is broken. In Clairton though, similar protests were not so peaceful. Students blocking off traffic at the intersection of St. Clair Avenue and Seventh Street attacked a man after he allegedly got too close to the demonstrators. A female then reportedly got onto his car and the driver got out telling her to get off, which is when he was attacked, suffering a black eye and other bruises. Police broke up the group and now charges are expected against some of the students involved in the attack.
