PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - There will likely be no charges filed after an hours-long SWAT standoff in White Oak Wednesday morning. It started around 4 a.m. in the 3000-block of State Street.
Authorities say a 20-year-old sent suicidal text messages to family members before stealing a handgun.
He shot himself in the shoulder before agreeing to treatment.
He was taken to a local hospital. No officers were injured.
It is still unclear what prompted the standoff.
