PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Federal officials are paying attention to COVID-19 scams.

U.S. Attorney Scott Brady helped form a task force to combat the problem.


Friday on KDKA Radio, Brady told Larry and Kevin scammers are lying about having cures or tests people can buy.

"We have a cure, here's a charity that's going to help people that have been affected or if you're about to receive a check from the federal government, send us your bank account information and we'll get that direct deposited right away," said Brady.

Government officials will never call and ask for this information or payment.

 Do not give personal information to anyone you don't know.
