Two More Die From The Flu In Allegheny County

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Two more deaths have been attributed to the flu in Allegheny County.

According to the Allegheny County Health Department, this would bring the total local deaths for the season to seven.


One of the victims was in their 40s and another in their 60s.

It is not yet known if the victims has underlying medical issues.

8,001 cases have been reported this flu season, and of those 82 people have been hospitalized.

The Health Department urges residents to get their flu vaccination as soon as possible, while also recommending the standards of washing hands often, sneezing and coughing into the elbow area, and avoiding work if you show flu symptoms.

There have been a total of 59,926 cases of the flu reported in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania this season.

Allegheny County by far has the most cases of the flu in the state.
