PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Internal Medicine Doctor for Allegheny Health Network, Dr. Jennifer Preiss, is encouraging individuals to be careful when it comes to COVID-19 antibody testing.
“I would warn patients about getting antibody testing, just yet,” Preiss said, during an interview with the KDKA Radio Morning Show on Tuesday. “If you read everything from the FDA and the CDC, it is not clear that these antibody testings are reliable.”
The professionals need more information to make a clear determination.
“The World Health Organization, as well as the CDC and the NIHR, are very hesitant to say, ‘just because you test positive for COVID right now, that confers complete immunity,’” Dr. Preiss explains.
