ALEENTOWN, Pa. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) More than 100 protestors gathered in Allentown after a video was posted showing Allentown Police officers using excessive force during an arrest.
The protestors marched to the Allentown Police Department and demanded answeres for the officers actions, chanting "no justice, no peace."
A similar use of force was used during the arrest and death of George Floyd in Minneapolis in May, sparking worldwide racial justice and police reform protests.
On July 2, Allentown Police stated that their use of force policy strictly bans the use of choke holds or neck restrains like what is seen in the video.
Allentown Police Chief Glenn Granitz said that an investigation will be held and more information will be given.
No information was given toward the man’s name or condition.
