PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — A virtual tip jar could help service industry employees out of work during the ongoing pandemic.
Carnegie Mellon University is hosting the website where customers can tip their favorite server, bartender, stylist, and others.
CMU is allowing service workers to enter their Venmo and PayPal accounts on the Tip Jar site, sending money directly to those out of work after Governor Tom Wolf urged all non-essential businesses to close to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
