Twitter User Confuses Chiefs Coach With Actor Wilford Brimley

(Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Longtime NFL coach Andy Reid is finally a Super Bowl champion, but according to Twitter, actor Wilford Brimley was the one raising the Lombardi trophy Sunday night.

Brimley, who starred in the movie “Cocoon” and is also known for being the spokesperson for Liberty Medical in which he would stress the importance of checking your blood sugar if you have diabetes, answered a tweet from a using asking if Reid is the “diabeetus” guy.

The 85-year-old Brimley responded on Twitter saying, “Ellie, no. I am the 'diabeetus' guy.”

The actor, who is now retired, also starred in “The Natural”, “The China Syndrome” and was a longtime spokesperson for Quaker Oats.
