On Tuesday, the Entercom Pittsburgh radio stations accepted enough donations from listeners and partners to buy over one point six million meals for Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
Our initial goal was one hundred thousand meals. Thanks to your generosity we exceeded that sixteen times over!
It's a phenomenal response considering many of our neighbors are jobless, some accepting food assistance for the first time. We're honored, with your help, to make a difference but not surprised as that's what Pittsburghers do.
Moving forward, we urge Governor Tom Wolf to work with state lawmakers on a plan to reopen Pennsylvania's economy sooner rather than later.
Mr. Wolf is expected to veto a bill to allow business to resume, like auto dealers and construction projects, under CDC guidelines for social distancing.
