117 Dogs Rescued From Ross Twp. Home

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Over 100 dogs were removed from a home in Ross Township Wednesday evening.
Conditions inside were so bad officers had to wear protective oxygen suits due to high ammonia levels, most likely due to the amount of waste in the home.
Sgt. Brian Kohlhepp tells KDKA Radio when he arrived on the scene he was told there were at least 50 dogs removed and by the time he left that number had climbed to over 100.
Animal Friends, who the dogs are in the care of, said Thursday morning on social media the official count was at 117.
Animal Friends also said that several dogs were “emaciated and in need of immediate medical attention,” so several members of their medical staff were at the home treating the dogs before they could be transported.
Once the dogs recuperate they will be up for adoption and if you would like to help Animal Friends financially you can donate here.
Ross Township will have the home inspect to determine if it is safe to live in.
Neighbors say the stench coming from the home was on unbearable, it kept them from going outside.
The unidentified homeowner will likely be charged with animal cruelty.
