24 Cats And Kittens Rescued From 'Deplorable Conditions' In McKees Rocks Home

MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Animal Friends in Pittsburgh is asking for donations after their investigations team rescued 24 cats from a home with “deplorable conditions” in McKees Rocks.
A number of the cats were kitten’s only days old.
Animal Friends decided to rescue the cats after a visit to the home on Monday revealed “unsanitary conditions”.
The cats and kittens were taken to Animal Friend’s facility where they received medical attention.
Medical staff found that seven cats tested positive for Feline Leukemia, “a contagious and potentially fatal virus.”
The kittens that were exposed to the virus have been moved to foster homes until they can be tested at around 6-8 weeks of age.
Experts say that while they don’t know the condition of the kittens, “we know that many of the tiny kittens likely wouldn't have survived if they had remained in the house.”
If you would like to donate to Animal Friends, you can do so here.
