PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) – The Pennsylvania Resources Council and Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania are hosting a household chemical collection event on July 24th for Butler and Armstrong County residents.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Freeport Middle School in Sarver.
For $20, residents can dispose of up to 10 gallons/50 pounds of aerosol cans, automotive fluids, chemistry sets, gasoline and kerosene, household cleaners, mercury thermometers, paint products, pesticides/garden chemicals, photo chemicals and pool chemicals.
Anything more than that will be subjected to additional fees.
Fire extinguishers can be dropped off for $12 each, and liquid mercury for $15 per pound.
