1Thing: November 15th is "America Recycles Day": 3 ways you can learn about everyday recycling

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – "America Recycles Day" will be celebrated on November 15th to bring awareness of how recycling impacts the nation's economy and environment.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency reports that each American produces 4.4 pounds of waste each day, with 75% of the waste being recyclable.

However, only 30% ends up in a proper receptacle.

The Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) has three ways Pennsylvanians can learn more about recycling:

1.)       Attend a free PRC "Recycling & Waste Reduction" Webinar
The webinar will take place on Tuesday, November 17th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is free to register. The webinar will discuss curbside collection, hard-to-recycle materials, and pharmaceutical dispose.

2.)       Call the PA Department of Recycling
PRC employees staff the DEP recycling hotline at 1-800-346-4242

3.)       Go to "Learn & Act" on PRC's website by clicking here
