HARRISBURG (Newsradio 100.1 FM and 1020 KDKA) – Pennsylvania State Police Liquor Control Enforcement (BLCE) Officers held 419 compliance checks to licensed liquor businesses across the state over the weekend, including 64 checks in the Pittsburgh area.
Of the 64 local checks, 8 businesses were issued warnings, and 3 were issued notice of violation.
According to a press release, a notice of violation is "the issuance of an administrative citation, which is civil in nature, and is intended to provide licensed liquor establishments notification of the nature of violation(s) discovered."
After being issued a notice, the investigation remains open, pending a review by the BLCE.
Businesses with continued violations put their liquor licenses at risk, according to a press release.
Compliance checks are unannounced and can occur anywhere in Pennsylvania.
