While the holidays usually bring a sense of hope and cheer to Americans, there's one part of the whole ordeal that many people could do without, according to a recent survey.
A study of 2,000 Americans looked into what exactly is done to prepare for the holidays and make them go off without a hitch, People reports. 54% of the people polled admitted that holiday home clean-up is the worst part of it all.
As 2020's end inches closer and closer, approximately one in two Americans agree that the last thing they want to do is clean their homes after days of cooking, gathering, and unwrapping gifts.
Meanwhile, 47% of people surveyed agreed that washing the dishes after a holiday meal is by far the worst part of the dinner. One third of Americans surveyed agree that the prep work for the big meal is the part they dread the most.
That said, two in five respondents agree that the people who were not responsible for helping with the creation of the meal should be the ones to help clean up at the meal's end.
The survey, conducted by OnePoll on behalf of LG Electronics USA, showed that one third of those polled will spend six hours or more in the kitchen, working towards that perfect holiday meal.
The holidays will look a little different this year with the coronavirus in full swing. 70% of people who have held holiday gatherings in the past say they plan to skip the guests this year and choose a more immediate family gathering.
77% of those who usually host think they will be making less food than normal this year.
