
The United States Food and Drug Administration has put out a warning for those with seafood allergies. The warning is simply, don’t eat cicadas.

In a tweet, the FDA said that people who have seafood allergies need to stay away from eating the bugs due to their relation to some ocean organisms.
"We have to say it. Don't eat #cicadas if you're allergic to seafood as these insects share a family relation to shrimp and lobsters," the tweet stated.
Brood Cicada’s make their way from underground to the surface every 17 years in Virginia, Indiana, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. Even though they are insects, people have be creating dishes using them as their main ingredient.
