A shelter for the homeless near Los Angeles, California is set to be named after late 'Jeopardy!' host Alex Trebek.

Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission in Northridge announced the new shelter, which is at the site of the former Skateland skating rink, is being called The Trebek Center to honor the beloved game show icon's legacy of helping others.

The rink closed in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic and is expected to undergo a $6 million renovation before being converted to the shelter, according to CNN.

Trebek and his wife, Jean, previously donated $500,000 to the organization to help them purchase the property, which will be a 107-bed shelter.

The TV legend had been a longtime advocate for helping those less fortunate and after his passing much of his 'Jeopardy!' wardrobe was donated to help homeless individuals find jobs.

Following Trebek’s death in November at the age of 80 from stage 4 pancreatic cancer, his son, Matt Trebek, donated the clothes to the Doe Fund, a New York City nonprofit that aids men who previously struggled with addiction, homelessness and incarceration.

The donations were in line with one of Trebek’s final heartwarming speeches during which he urged people to be generous during the COVID-19 pandemic, give thanks for their blessings, and “build a gentler, kinder society.”

In addition, Trebek & his wife started the Trebek Family Foundation in 2011 to support charities.
