A sandwich shop in Southwestern PA has been ruled “out of compliance” after an inspection found a couple of repeat violations this week.
The PA Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety says the Jersey Mike’s Subs on Wagner Road in Monaca had three total violations after an inspection on Wednesday.
Inspectors say a food slicer had “dried food residue and was not clean to sight and touch.” That slicer was cleaned during the inspection, but is a repeat violation.
Also, the ice machine “was not cleaned as instructed during the previous out of compliance inspection.” (Repeat violation).
A sign was put up that says “out of ice, but ice was still available for us.”
The last violation involved dirty non-food contact surfaces.
The report reads that a follow up inspection will take place within 10 days.
This "out of compliance" notice only applies to the Jersey Mike's on Wagner Road in Monaca.
