The United States is at an interesting stage in our war against COVID-19.

Although there is still much to learn, we have learned a great deal, including the fact that COVID-19 follows a predictable path across the globe.

For instance, the U.K. is ahead of us in the omicron battle, and watching their hospitalizations and deaths can predict what will happen in the U.S.

Omicron clearly killed far fewer than the delta variant in the U.K. The U.K. experience confirmed the fact that the vast majority who died were unvaccinated, especially those who had pre-existing conditions.

If vaccinated, being boosted far and away prevented hospitalizations. The U.K. is more than 70% vaccinated and 52% boosted. The U.S. is only 62% vaccinated and 23% boosted.
