15-year-old Oliver High School Student shot dead, classmate in custody

We are learning more about the fatal shooting outside Oliver Citywide Academy Wednesday morning.

15-year-old Jamier Perry has been arrested. He is charged with the murder of 15-year-old Derrick Harris.

Perry is charged with Criminal Homicide, Possession of Firearm by Minor and Firearms not to be Carried without a License.

Perry is a juvenile but due to ACT 33 guidelines, he is being charged as an adult.

The shooting happened just before 7:30 a.m. when Pittsburgh Police responded to a shotspotter totaling 11 rounds alerted authorities.

When Police arrived, they found Harris suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital but later died from his wounds.

The Perry fled the scene but was taken into custody a short time later without incident.

Both were current students at Oliver.

Perry was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
