A 16-year-old is being charged as an adult in connection with an armed robbery during a Facebook Marketplace sale.

Allegheny County Police say they responded to the 700 block of Hays Avenue in Mt. Oliver Monday afternoon.

The victim told them they planned to sell a custom-built PC from a Facebook Marketplace transaction.

Instead, three people showed up, allegedly displayed a gun and stole the computer.

Detectives later saw five people nearby, matching both the description of the robbery under investigation and a previous armed robbery.

The group ran, but officers eventually caught up with 16-year-old James Beasley.

Detectives recovered the computer and other items from his home.

He is charged with robbery and illegal possession of a gun by a minor.
