17-year-old arrested after two stabbed in Sto-Rox

The suspect wanted in the stabbing of two people after a Sto Rox football game is behind bars.

17-year-old Maniya Turner surrendered to deputies at the municipal courts building this morning.

Turner will be charged as an adult with aggravated assault, and was processed into the Allegheny County Jail.

Two females were stabbed near Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School after the Vikings took on Avonworth.

Superintendent Megan Marie Van Fossan released said after the incident in part, “Our position on violence within our community remains steadfast. Schools and athletic events should be safe havens for student-athletes, coaches, families, and fans. Our school district will continue its efforts to prevent the presence of weapons on school premises, and we remain dedicated to collaborating with our law enforcement partners who tirelessly work to ensure our neighborhoods' safety.”

Officials in the area are working on increasing security.
