3 people arrested for shooting in Green Tree

PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) — On Monday, Dec. 28, County Police responded to a 911 call for multiple gunshots fired in the 1100 block of Greentree Road.

The call was received at 8:14 p.m., and police officers from the Green Tree Police Department were dispatched shortly after.

The officers found a 21-year-old male gunshot victim shot in the right arm and bleeding at the scene — the scene being in the Unity Presbyterian Church parking lot.

The man was transported to an area hospital and is reported to survive the injury.

At that time, any suspects had already left the scene when officers arrived, though.

An intense search followed the incident and recruited the help of other police departments and agencies.

Eventually, the Allegheny County Police General Investigations Unit came in to offer investigative assistance.

Investigators learned that the suspects were trying to rob the victim of his vehicle, to no success.

The failed robbery led to the victim's gunshot wound.

The victim does not have any connection to the church, but it is theorized that the suspects set him up.

Eventually, three suspects were found and taken in on charges related to the failed robbery incident: 21-year-old Scottie Harris, 20-year-old Jamere Blackwell, and 22-year-old Sequawon Harris.

All three are being charged with criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, robbery of a motor vehicle, recklessly endangering another person, criminal conspiracy, and violations of the Uniform Firearm Act.

All three of the suspects are already in custody at the Allegheny County Jail and are awaiting arraignment.
