For the second time in three days, a man was arrested at Pittsburgh International Airport, trying to get a gun through TSA security.
It happened just after 1:00 yesterday afternoon at the main security checkpoint.
40-year-old Jamal Pittman of Mississippi had a loaded nine-millimeter gun in his carry-on.
He did not have a valid concealed permit and is not allowed to possess a gun under PA law.
Pittman is the 9th person arrested for trying to bring a gun through airport security this year.
The FBI was also notified of the arrest.
It's also the 37th gun stopped by TSA this year, an all-time record.
A few hours later, an Imperial man was stopped with a .380 caliber handgun with loaded magazine in his carry-on bag. He was not arrested, but faces heavy fines.
On Tuesday, the record, previously set in 2019 was broken when TSA officials stopped a Uniontown man, 29-year-old Domonique Hickenbottom, around 6:30 Tuesday afternoon at the main checkpoint.
They found a loaded 9-millimeter handgun in his carry-on bag.
Police say Hickenbottom did not have a concealed carry permit.
"Passengers who bring firearms into an airport security checkpoint can also face federal civil fines from the Transportation Security Administration up to $10,000. Repeat offenders can be fined up to $13,910," County Police said in a post.
