Tonya Todd's four years of horror are finally over. She suffered through nearly five years of raw sewage flowing into her basement. It was so severe it rusted out her hot water heater, forcing her to boil water in her kitchen and bathe at friends and neighbors.
Watch the video on this page to see what's changed and what's next.

Before retired police officer and mayoral candidate Tony Moreno reached out to me to help Tonya, no one would help her, no one. Many times she reached out to city leaders, state leaders, and got no assistance, no guidance, nothing.
It took me less than a day to get the ball rolling and the big savior for Tonya and her neighbors is a man whose business is in Homewood, just blocks away. Ken Cuccaro, owner of Cuccaro Plumbing, stepped in to get to the bottom of the problem and he really went all in. He not only used his team to dig up and fix collapsed sewage lines, he also got other companies involved who helped out with dumpsters and cleaning and sanitizing Tonya's basement to make her home safe again.

In the end, Ken did this entire thing out of the kindness of his heart. If someone was paying for this work it would be well over $60,000. Now Tonya can stay in her home, the one she was born in. The only thing left is for the street to be paved behind her house and that will happen in the next week.
Absolutely amazing, the kindness of strangers.
