Police say a 6-year-old girl is in critical condition after being shot in the chest Thursday evening in Homewood.
Police received a ShotSpotter alert for Lawndale Street but then got another alert for a child being shot on Frankstown Avenue and North Homewood Avenue.
When police arrived they found a child in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. She was in an SUV with a man who was trying to get her help.
The child was taken to Children's Hospital.
There are no suspects at this time.
