A man in his 50s died after being hit by a vehicle around 8 p.m. in the 2100 block of Liberty Avenue Wednesday evening.
EMS rushed the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police say the preliminary investigation indicates the man stepped off the sidewalk and was not in a crosswalk.
The man driving the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers.
