AAA just announced a "Free Shred-It" Event for the city of Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities.
In an attempt to combat identify theft, AAA is inviting people to come and shred all of their unnecessary papers to reduce the chances of losing your identity.
The event will be held in East Liberty at AAA's office on 5900 Baum Blvd, in the parking lot at South Beatty St. and Eva St.
Members of AAA can bring up to five storage boxes that can include paperwork that may have names, birthdates, account numbers on them. Here's a list of things that can be shredded at the event:
Credit card offers; bank statements; old check books; tax forms; medical records; credit reports; personal records; insurance records and financial statements.
