Pennsylvania's attorney general is issuing a safety warning about tracking devices.

The warning comes just days after state police arrested an Apollo man for allegedly stalking a woman by using an Apple AirTag. The device is small enough to hide in a purse or backpack and can easily be attached to a car bumper or behind a plate.

Attorney General Josh Shapiro says Air Tags and other GPS trackers are often used maliciously. So, it's important, especially for women, to recognize the warning signs.

"It's vital all Pennsylvanians, especially women and survivors of sexual assault and abuse know about how these devices can be misused and turned into a threat," said Attorney General Shapiro.

Those include a beeping sound on your iPhone, or even a text notification indicating, "item detected near you."

If you find a suspicious AirTag, contact police.
