Students have returned to classrooms at Ambridge High School after reports of a threat forced an evacuation Friday morning.

The school sent out the following message just after 11:20 a.m.:

At this time, the Ambridge Police have deemed the building safe, and students are able to return to the building.
The Canine Units were here and searched the entire building. Students are returning to the high school and will be on a modified schedule for the remainder of the school day. Extracurricular activities will resume this evening.

We thank you for your patience and understanding that students could not be picked up while emergency teams were responding to the external threat. If you want to pick up your child at this time, please follow standard procedures.

The safety and security of our students is a top priority of the Ambridge Area School District. As such, the District takes all threats and all reports of alleged threats seriously.

Earlier, the school was evacuated after a threat was seen, written in a bathroom inside the high school.
