Allegheny County Executive Fitzgerald reacts to protests at Capitol in D.C., says no reason to expect local protests

Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald is reacting to the protest happening in Washington D.C. on Wednesday. He told reporters there is no reason to expect any protests locally at this time.

"I can tell you that locally, we've heard no reports of anything. Our law enforcement are monitoring situations here in Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania and thus far, we've had no reports yet of anything and we want to keep it that way."

Earlier in the day, the Capitol was out on lockdown as Trump supporters stormed and breached the Capitol.

Conressional offices were avacuate. According to reports, at least one person was shot.

Wednesday afternoon, Joe Biden called on President Trump to "go on national television now to fulfill his oath and defend the Constitution and demand an end to this siege."

Trump later released a pre-recorded video.

Fitzgerald also blamed President Trump for the protest at the capital in Washington D.C.
