Allegheny County issues stay-at-home advisory, urges people to not travel for Thanksgiving

Allegheny County issued a public health advisory to residents telling them to stay home and to cancel Thanksgiving celebrations with other households.

The advisory from Health Director Dr. Debra Bogan comes as the county reported 620 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, the highest one day total since the start of the pandemic.

The advisory tells people to stay at home except for work, school, or essential needs.

Bogan also asks people to cancel Thanksgiving celebrations involving people outside of their household.

Finally, she urges cooperation with case investigators to track the source of infections.
