Allegheny County reports 620 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday

There are 620 new COVID-19 cases in Allegheny County in the last 24 hours according to the health department.

Of those new cases, 502 are confirmed and 114 are probable.

There were also two new deaths reported.

The county said cases investigations are taking longer to get through due to the increase in the number of cases.

If you have tested positive and are waiting for an investigation call from officials, the health department is asking that you self-quarantine and to let others with whom you've come into contact at 6 feet or less for 15 minutes or more. Those persons should get tested and should also self-quarantine.

Since March, the county has seen 21,434 COVID-19 cases, 1,658 hospitalizations and 464 deaths.

On Tuesday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health instituted additional mitigation measures as a result of the recent increase in cases throughout the state. Wearing a mask indoors at all times when not in your home, regardless of physical distance with others.
